A few more waterfall pictures we took on a day trip starting on the other side of the Columbia River Gorge. I probably looked like a crazed 6 month pregnant lady that day - hiking on trails (some of which would have been pretty strenuous for me even when I wasn't pregnant) and climbing rocks with my tripod, trying to take a long exposure of anything moving water I could find. Taylor was a good sport as always :)

I almost didn't care what the Oregon Coast had to offer - all I knew was that it was about 20 degrees cooler than Portland so I couldn't wait to hop in the car and head west asap.

We started the day window shopping and flying a kite in Seaside, hiking at Ecola State Park, and ended in Cannon Beach for dinner and sunset photos at Haystack Rock.

Oregon Part 1 // Columbia River Gorge

Columbia River Gorge - Melody Mak 5

The Columbia River Gorge was breathtaking - even in the scorching heat. I can only imagine what this place is like in the spring and fall when the falls are overflowing with rushing water, or during a foggy sunset or sunrise, or in the winter with snow and ice...

Pretty surreal to be looking at these photos of me pregnant now that Noah is here. Even though he's here now it still boggles my mind that he was what was growing in that bump I was carrying around for 9 months.

OREGON // Travel Diary

8/31/15

Finally trying to get around to posting photos from our babymoon in Oregon we took a couple months ago.

Other than the fact that we ended up visiting during a historic heatwave that had been unmatched since the 1970s while I was already overheated all the time from being 6 months pregnant, it was a really great trip. Portland area seems to have a little bit of everything - amazing food, unrealistically friendly and good looking hipsters walking around everywhere just smiling for no reason or looking like they're about to do something really artsy fartsy, nature, nature and more nature, Powell's books, Nike, and best of all - no sales tax!
