CANADA Part 4 // Modern Art in Downtown and Mosaicultures Internationales

Montreal's Downtown is the most delightful mix of old world and modern, and public art. Some of the highlights were the Musee des Beaux-Arts Montreal and the Palais des congrès de Montréal.

CANADA Part 3 // Biking the Lachine Canal and Le Plateau

One of my favorite days spent in Montreal was biking around the city. We started in Old Montreal, and had a delicious brunch at Le Cartet.  Then we biked along the Lachine Canal to visit Habitat 67, a housing community designed by Moshe Safdie- a project that really influenced me in college. After that we ate lunch Marche Atwater, a farmer's market filled with scrumptious and delicious food and produce. Then it was off to Le Plateau and saw the beautiful greystones, La Parc Fontaine, and people  watched the artists hanging around the streets and love birds enjoying the beautiful autumn weather at the park.

CANADA Part 1 // Old Montreal

We spent out first night walking the streets of Old Montreal and celebrated our anniversary at L'Auberge Sainte Gabriel. I could have spent days just walking around the historic architecture, it felt like I was transported to a different time in a European city!

CANADA // Travel Diary

I started putting together some of photos we took from a trip we made last year to the beautiful cities of Montreal and Quebec City and am excited to share more in the next couple days. I never knew how beautiful Canada is and how nice the people are there. If I wasn't such a pampered Californian and could handle their winters, I totally could see myself moving there. We had a blast walking down the cobbled streets of Old Montreal, exploring the public art in Downtown, biking along water canals and tree lined greystones, and most of all eating delicious food.

Here are some photos we took during the drive from Montreal to Quebec City. The colors of the iconic Canadian maples were incredible- miles and miles of red, orange, green and yellow!
